ONE OF OUR MISSIONS IN 2021 IS TO INVEST IN GIRLS THROUGH EDUCATION
According to the 2019 UN Human Development Report, Tanzania was tied in rank #159 (with Uganda) out of 189 countries. Not surprisingly, the top 20 ranks went to well developed countries such as Sweden, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Norway, United States and Japan.
You may be asking, What exactly is this report about? Here is a small excerpt from their website:
What is human development?
In 1990 the first Human Development Report introduced a new approach for advancing human wellbeing. Human development – or the human development approach – is about expanding the richness of human life, rather than simply the richness of the economy in which human beings live. It is an approach that is focused on people and their opportunities and choices. (UN Human Development Report, 2019)
Tanzania is one of the poorest and least developed countries in the world. As a country, although they have made some major progress in society and economically in the past decade, they continue struggling to provide basic needs, such as education, water and other services, pertaining to health, in rural and suburban areas. A large part of this is due to not having enough resources to meet the needs of the growing population, gender inequality and financial disparity between economic classes.
One of the ways we can help reconcile these issues is by changing the overall perspectives of local individuals through education. More importantly, supporting girls so they become not only educated, but well-informed, empowered, confident young women, who CAN choose and are ready to step into careers that can help create the positive changes in key positions, which will inevitably influence the course of human development in Tanzania for the better.
With everything going on in the world, we know just how important it is for us to have the opportunity to be educated, to express ourselves, claim our rights and exercise our power to choose and create our own future. For those living in poverty and vulnerable communities, like the ones we currently serve in Tanzania, this reality is but a far-fetched dream.
The time is Now for Us to

To those who have chosen to give today, in any shape or form, we say, Asante Sana (Thank you very much- in Swahili) and:
“Blessed are those who give liberally [out of the kindness and generosity of their hearts] to those in need, for they have shared their fruits of labour with the poor and are thus rewarded bountifully to the likes of victory and honour.” (Proverbs 22:9)
